Student Refund Policy

Student Refund Policy

  1. A student may be entitled to a refund of tuition fees in the event that:
    • The student provides written notice to the institution that they are withdrawing from the program.
    • The institution provides written notice to the student advising that they have been dismissed from the program.
  2. The written notice of withdrawal or dismissal may be delivered in any manner, provided that a receipt or other verification is available indicating the date on which the notice is delivered.
  3. The notice of withdrawal or dismissal is deemed effective from the date it is delivered.
  4. The refund a student is entitled to is calculated on the total tuition fees due under the contract. Where total tuition fees have not yet been collected, the institution is not responsible for refunding more than has been collected to date, and the student may be required to make up for monies due under the contract.
  5. If the institution has received fees in excess of the amount it is entitled to under the student contract, the excess amount must be refunded.
  6. Refund policy for students:
    • If written notice of withdrawal is received within 7 days of the contract and before classes begin, the institution may retain 5% of the total tuition, up to $250.
    • If written notice is received 30 days or more before classes begin, the institution may retain 10% of tuition, up to $1,000.
    • If written notice is received less than 30 days before classes begin, the institution may retain 20% of tuition, up to $1,300.
  7. Refunds after the program begins:
    • If withdrawal or dismissal occurs before 10% of the program, the institution may retain 30% of the tuition.
    • If withdrawal or dismissal occurs after 10% but before 30%, the institution may retain 50% of the tuition.
    • If withdrawal or dismissal occurs after 30%, no refund is required.
  8. If a student did not meet admission requirements through no fault of their own, all tuition and fees must be refunded, minus any non-refundable application fees.
  9. Refunds for consumables not yet received by the student must be 100% refunded.
  10. If a student withdraws after receiving technical equipment:
    • The equipment must be returned unopened or as issued within 14 days.
    • If not returned, the institution may deduct the cost of the equipment from the refund amount.
  11. Refunds must be issued within 30 days of receiving written notice of withdrawal or dismissal and all required documentation.
  12. For distance education, refunds are based on the percentage of the program completed as per the above policy.
